i have problem with update too.

Phone state was stuck on android screen.
I want to update to 2.1 official hungarian rom.
My phone is from T-mobile Macedonia.

I have copied the dload folder to root of SD card but after pressing RED+VOLUME UP+POWER on i get "Prepair Update" message and phone screen turns to black instantly and phone shuts down.

So basicly I cant enter the to recovery mode to start the update..

I have solved it..My battery was too low to start the process.

Sorry ! you can not repair this phone with just a simple usb cable or normal SD card download method.

Talk with any JTAG developer. they would like to buy your expensive brick.

Where you got this info ? you can reset simlock counter by flashing ? upgrading ?

Firmware upgrade is just upgrade firmware image. other part of phone software remain untouched.

Where you got this info ? you can reset simlock counter by flashing ? upgrading ?

Firmware upgrade is just upgrade firmware image. other part of phone software remain untouched.
